Desalination, cooling and energy are among the UAE's largest resource pressures, and its cities are growing. These are problems where data and AI may help, but where research must start from local conditions.
Questions we are researching
- Water and cooling: can AI reduce desalination energy, find network leaks and tune district cooling?
- Energy and climate: grid intelligence, solar forecasting and energy-efficiency research.
- Digital twins: models of buildings, cooling plants and campuses for optimisation and emergency simulation.
- Carbon measurement: automated measurement, reporting and verification for net-zero commitments.
